Excelsior-Henderson Riders Club
Pioneer Chapter Meeting
Stark's – 17 February 2001
The February meeting was called to order at 11:00 on Saturday at Stark's Saloon. In attendance, there were just under 50 people. Sadly, due to the extreme weather, there were no Super X's in the parking lot.
Chuck Barsness reported that we are now officially incorporated in the state of Minnesota.
The chapter logo has been approved (see website at www.pioneerchapter.com or www.ehridersclub.com).
The chapter bylaws continue to get hammered out by Bob Capitola.
The chapter t-shirts were also approved. They'll have a pocket with the X and Bar logo, an X and Bar logo on the right sleeve, and the chapter logo on the back. Sizes will soon be taken with production and distribution following shortly.
New business consisted of: * Voting issues. A point was brought up regarding voting irregularities. The main concern was people simply voting over the phone or via personal email. It's been determined that a voting regulator will be used in subsequent years - one that's not running for an office - to ensure that all votes are legitimate. It was considered to have everyone be present to vote but this will allow for absentee voting. * Buck's garage. Local owners now have another source for quality technical advice in the form of Shaun Bailey (Buck). He's in Prior Lake and is very qualified to assist owners. * More updates have been completed on the website by webmaster Evil Bob Gerhart. Any information that anyone thinks might be beneficial (cross-reference numbers), email them to him and he'll get them posted.
Membership was discussed and determined to stay as it's been. Full membership is limited to those that own or co-own an EH. This also buys voting rights. Associated membership is open to anyone else. Both variations are $20 annually and runs from March to March. A T-shirt is included. A newsletter is also in the works.
The Homecoming and X-Ride 2001 is shaping up with Tom Robinson spearheading the effort. As always, volunteers are welcome and needed. It's not been determined which site that we'll actually use but several options are at our disposal. All updates will be posted on the Homecoming website. The link is on the Rider's Club website. Rooms will be blocked (not reserved) at the AmericInn in Belle Plaine. Much like last year, all of the pertinent information will be mailed out to all current owners. We're working with the company to get the most recent list of owner to be used for only this purpose.
The next meeting is scheduled for 11:00 March 17 at Bunny's in St. Louis Park. It's at the northwest corner of Excelsior Blvd and highway 100. It's where we had our March meeting last year. Several of us rode our bikes last March. I don't like our chances of a repeat performance of that this year.
