October 19, 2008 Minutes

Director Randy Schwandt brought the meeting to order at 1:15. There were 10 people in attendance.

Secretary Chuck couldn't attend so Amy Snyder “volunteered” to be acting Secretary - Thanks, Amy!

Phil Ward reported the club is in good financial condition. There has been little activity in the last couple of months and we're in a stable condition compared to last year at this time.

John reported that with four renewals and one pending, we currently have 119 members. Membership can be sent to John Jones – 301 N Main St, Le Sueur MN 56058-4361 or go online to ehridersclub.com. You can contact John at duc88825@hotmail.com or 507-665-4062.

Holiday Party – Our Holiday Party will be held January 24, 2009. The location will be determined at next month's meeting so bring location ideas.
Membership – At the September meeting Doc Bowman said he would be willing to get a list of current EH owners from publicly available databases. Since maintaining the list of current owners is at best a “challenge”, this offer was welcomed heartily.

Schedule - It's clear we need to schedule more riding. In addition to the traditional Friday Poker Run expect a Saturday ride departing early (around 8 or 9 AM???) and returning by 3 PM. To make room for this, we'll move the Dyno Shootout to 3 PM. After that we'll have the Bike Show.
Entertainment - At the September meeting Doc Bowman said he has contacts which may be helpful if we want to have entertainment at the Rally. Ken Bretz's wife Debbie also has entertainment contacts so we have a pair of sources.
Rules for Bike Show - At or before the March meeting we will form a committee to set up rules for what bikes qualify for each class in the bike show.
Registration Fees - We've been able to hold the line pretty well on Rally registration fess, but we'll be revisiting them this year. We decided that any registration fee increase will not be charged to 2009 members.

The 2009 membership gift will be an LED flashlight imprinted with the EH logo. Phil will get a sample for next month's meeting. Phil also received an offer for imprinted pens. The sample they sent was pretty good quality. The imprint can be three lines and the sample was imprinted with “Excelsior Henderson Riders C” in bold capitals to show the width we can have. We decided to buy some of these pens to include as member gifts and possibly to include as Rally swag. Please send suggestions for the imprint content to Phil (pjward1707@hotmail.com). The final decision of the imprint and the number of pens ordered will be made at the November meeting.

Nils Andersson & friends throw an EH Rally in Sweden, and they are taking orders for Sweden Rally Shirts. Prices haven't yet been set, but they've said they will try to keep the price close to regular retail prices although the exchange rate to the dollar is not in our favor. Depending upon orders, they are considering long sleeve (black or white) turtleneck and black T-shirt with or without sleeves. One of them will definitely have the Swedish Chapter logo on the back. If you're interested, please email Nils at neco@algonet.se or info@superx.se . Shirts will be ready to ship end of March next year or can be delivered at the 2009 X-Rally X in MN for US customers. Payment will take place upon delivery. To accept your order, Nils needs your full name, address, e-mail address, your size, and if you like long or short sleeve or both.

The next meeting will be November 16, 2008, 1:00 pm at the Black Dawg Bar & Grille, 3120 MN-13 W, Burnsville, MN 55337 (952-277-0197). Turn North off Highway 13 at Washburn Ave – don't trust Google Maps, Live Maps, or maybe even your GPS - the Black Dawg is North of 13.
