Pioneer Chapter Meeting at Randy & Val Schwandt’s home – Kasson MN – 08Aug2009
Director Randy Schwandt brought the meeting to order.
Treasurer’s Report –Phil Ward reported that we are looking good after the Rally this year.
Member ship Report- John Jones reported that we currently have 126 members. The member gift this year is the Super X flashlight. There are only a few flashlights left, so if you know someone who is thinking about joining the Pioneer Chapter, encourage them to do it soon. Old Business – X Rally X – We had 78 unique attendees. T-shirt sales were good for the Rally. We only have 2 Rally shirts left. Using the trailer as an office for the Rally worked out great. Thanks to Doc Jones for bringing in the trailer. We spent more for the food than last year, which was expected. And, having the tent and tables available at the Motel was great and made for a good gathering area thanks to Dale and Cindy. The activities at Albert Lea and the SPAM Tour and ride to Le Sueur went well. The Poker Run was great as usual. Dan Hanlon and his son joined us on the Reunion Ride on Saturday. We were a bit late getting back from the Saturday Ride which delayed the start of the Bike Show and getting to the Pork Sandwich meal that evening. All in all, the Rally went very well this year. We don’t have an exact count, but about 6-10 former employees were present at various times during the Rally. Thanks to all that helped with the planning and the activities for this year and to all that attended X Rally X.
New Business – Rally 2010 – The dates have been set for July 7 – 11. So, get your reservations in early. You can contact Dale or Cindy at the Downtown Motel (507) 665-6246.
We discussed the possibility of having the meal after the Poker Run at the Downtown Motel. The Thursday meal worked out really well having it at the Downtown Motel. We could possibly see some cost savings if we make this change.
Ken reported that he was going to work on the Poker Run as we have had a limit of 52 entries and need to be able to handle more than 52.
We had a discussion regarding respect for fellow Rally attendees. The Pioneer Chapter holds the annual Rally not only for owners of Excelsior-Henderson motorcycles, but also for EH enthusiasts and friends. In any group of this size there will be disagreements between attendees, but the Chapter expects that those disagreements will be respectful. If at anytime there is a display of being disrespectful, then other members (including Officers) should ask the parties to be respectful. The Pioneer Chapter asks all members to show a mutual respect to each other and anything less will not be tolerated.
It was decided that the start/first day of all future Rallies would be the first Wednesday after the 4th of July each year.
Rally Planning has already started for the 2010 Rally, so if you have thoughts or ideas, please let us know.

Next Meeting – The next Pioneer Chapter Meeting will be held on Saturday, September 19th. This is the same day as the Fall Flood Run.
